Ekata Martial Arts & Fitness offers classes that will help you lose weight, gain tone, and get in shape.  Unlike the gym, our classes are fun, and, you always learn something new.  Moreover, all of our adult classes are taught by fitness experts, who moderate the difficulty of the class based on your ability—so, regardless of your age or level of conditioning, you are always challenged without getting overworked. The Martial Arts taught at Ekata are all recognized for their practicality and efficacy in real life situations. Our instructors possess a wealth of knowledge and wide range of experience that includes ring fighting, street combat, defensive tactics, and a vast and comprehensive amount of training.  Our student body includes sheriffs, DEA, bodyguards, and many other security personnel, but is mainly composed of adults of all ages, who just want the ability and confidence to defend themselves

Exercise, meditation, and learning a new skill are the three most frequent recommendations for stress management.  Ekata gives you all of them combined.  The ideal mindset for Martial Arts is that of a “moving meditation.”  This means that while performing the physical action of the Martial Art, students learn to stay relaxed and keep their minds clear.  This technique provides stress relief in the moment, teaches stress management outside of the studio, and is a practical and effective part of the Martial Art, quickening reaction time and increasing power.

 

Additionally, Ekata offers Qi Gong meditation classes and Pilates, two excellent options that specifically focus on breathing, alignment, and relaxation.

Adult Program 

Our Adult Program adheres to Bruce Lee’s philosophy, teaching effective physical techniques—for both fitness and self-defense—while also cultivating an attitude of mindfulness and self-improvement.  This creates a versatile program.  It allows our students to get in shape, learn self-defense, and manage stress in a fun atmosphere that is right for people of all ages and goals.
